How booking requests work

Open a tour, choose a date and start time in the tour’s local time, your group size and a language the guide offers, then select Request a booking. You need a verified FreeWalkingTour account. Your request shows as awaiting guide confirmation until the guide answers.

No. A request is only booked once the guide confirms it. The site does not have a live availability calendar, so the guide checks the time you proposed. You’ll get an email when the guide confirms or declines, and you can follow the status in My bookings.

Free walking tours are tip-based. There is no mandatory amount: at the end of the tour you choose what to tip your guide, and you give it to them directly.

A private tour shows either a price per person or per group, or says the price is on request. The price shown when you send a request is saved with it. Payment is arranged directly with the guide; FreeWalkingTour does not collect payment.

Always the tour’s local time, shown next to the date and time fields (for example Asia/Tashkent). It is not converted from your phone or computer’s timezone.

Yes. Open the booking in My bookings and choose Cancel booking. You can cancel a request that is awaiting confirmation, or a confirmed booking before its start time.

Each tour is written by its guide, including the photos, and checked by an administrator before it is published. Changes to a published tour are reviewed again.

Only approved tours published on FreeWalkingTour are listed. Cities appear once a guide has a published tour there. A tour can disappear if its guide unpublishes it or the guide’s profile is suspended.

Yes. Create an account, verify your email and submit a guide profile. Once an administrator approves it, you can create tours, upload your own photos and answer booking requests.
